Emergency Procedures (Last update 4/2/2007)
In our continuing effort to ensure the safety and
security of students and staff, Hunter College Elementary School has implemented
the following emergency response procedures:
- All students will remain in the school building, supervised by faculty in
homeroom classes.
- Public Safety will handle security and communications with the
administration, NYPD, and FDNY. Parents will be asked to remain outside the
building until the nature of any emergency has been determined. Once parents
are allowed into the building, they should report to the cafeteria for further
instructions.
- In the event of an evacuation from the immediate area of the school,
students and staff will be directed to St. Ignatius Loyola, located on 84th Street and Park Avenue.
- Information regarding the release of students from the school or
alternative site or any changes to the above procedures will be posted on the
Hunter College Elementary School web site: http://hces.hunter.cuny.edu/ and on
voice mail recording at 212 - 860- 1292
