School Services
In addition to providing one-on-one counseling, the guidance
counselor collaborates with teachers regarding the
students' social and emotional well-being. Issues such as
problem solving, decision-making, empathy, and self-awareness
are addressed through group work in the classroom.
Learning Intervention Program
This program provides intensive, individualized instruction
to referred students in such areas as reading, language
usage, academic skills, vocabulary, organization, concept
development, memory and recall, auditory and visual processing,
and fine motor coordination.
Hawk's Nest -- The After-School Program
Our after school program offers
activities until 5:45 PM on school days. Hawk's Nest fees
are based on a sliding scale related to family income.
Transportation
From kindergarten through sixth grade, free transportation is provided
within a five-mile radius of the school by the Bureau
of Public Transportation. The Office of Pupil Transportation provides MTA passes to
eligible students who do not register for school bus service.
Cafeteria Services
Lunch is served daily. Each day the cafeteria
offers a "blue plate special", consisting of a main course, side
dish and milk, as well as a variety of hot and cold sandwiches,
salad, beverages, and desserts.
